Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math  is located in Nagamangala Taluk , Mandya District, with its root firmly embedded  in the folds of time of around 2000 years. It  has been working towards the upliftment  of  human life and society. The Math’s  benevolent activities of social service gained  a  huge  momentum in the form of   Parama Poojya Jagadguru Padmabhushana Dr. Sri Sri Sri Balagangadhara -natha Mahaswamiji who ascended  the revered seat in 1974 as 71st Peethadipathi of Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math.  Under his stewardship Math galvanized  its activities of social service through Food, Education & Health.

Sri Sri Sri Mahaswamiji  toured  widely  to spread the message  of social service in the state .  He  toured Sullia, Puttur , Belthangady, Bantwal, Mangalore of  Dakshina Kannada as far back as in  1979 and continued the effort till 2012 when  he attained the feet of  Lord Bhairava .

In the year 1999 Sri Sri  Dharmapalanatha Swamiji was given the responsibility of coastal Karnataka and was asked to look after the Math at Kavoor, Mangalore. Kavoor Math is situated at Kavoor, Mangalore, which is about 6 Kms from Mangalore  International Airport.  He was appointed as the Secretary of BGS Education  Institutions .After assuming the charge of this part  of Dakshina Kannada  and Udupi he has widely toured the area , mobilizing  and uniting the community and  creating awareness among people regarding education.

His biggest contribution towards the field of education  is well appreciated  by the people of Dakshina Kannada. A CBSE school under the name BGSEducation Centre was started in the  year 2000  and was inaugurated  by His Holiness Parama Poojya Jagadguru  Padmabhushana Dr. Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji  with 54 students and  now is a big Banyan tree having more than 1000 students are getting the benefit . Sri Adichunchanagiri  Math  stands for 3 major requirements like , Food, Education and Health of the Community around .The Shakha Mutt  provides this  as the wishes of Sri Sri Sri Maha Swamiji. Swamiji helps the poor children of surrounding areas with  the  ‘ BGS Datti  Nidhi’.

He has the vision of helping poor people of the  District by conducting  health camps on the campus . Sri Math also  wants the poor  people to take up self employment  to become self dependent and  is working in this direction.

Sri Sri Swamiji strongly  believes that the society can become a cultured society only through spiritual education. To accomplish this , Swamiji has started a new experiment of giving  spiritual programmes like Yoga, Meditation,  speeches , bhajans  in the math on all the full Moondays under the name “ Beladingala Chintana Chavadi”. People have started getting the benefit of this discourse including the  BGS Hostel students. Summer Camps are also  arranged to spread spiritual awareness among students .
